Scaling relations in dynamical evolution of star clusters
We have carried out a series of small scale collisional N-body calculations of single-mass star clusters to investigate the dependence of the lifetime of star clusters on their initial parameters. Our models move through an external galaxy potential with a logarithmic density profile and they are limited by a cut-off radius. In order to find scaling relations between the lifetime of star cluste...
متن کاملCHEMO – DYNAMICAL EVOLUTION OF DISK GALAXIES, SMOOTHED PARTICLES HYDRODYNAMICS APPROACH Chemo – Dynamical SPH code
A new Chemo – Dynamical Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamic (CD – SPH) code is presented. The disk galaxy is described as a multi – fragmented gas and star system, embedded into the cold dark matter halo. The star formation (SF) process, SNII, SNIa and PN events as well as chemical enrichment of gas have been considered within the framework of standard SPH model. Using this model we try to describe ...
متن کاملWake pairing of dust particles
In the sheath region, the ion flow to the electrode provides a distinctive direction, with the plasma properties different in the direction parallel or perpendicular to the flow. The ion flow is responsible for the generation of the wake potential for a test dust particle, which in the linear approximation is within the Mach cone for supersonic ion velocities. The bottom dust particle appearing...
متن کاملContents — A through F Dustbuster : A Proposed JIMO Instrument , for Jovian Satellite and Ring Dust Analyzer
A magnetometer instrument, based on a proposal submitted to the Europa Orbiter Announcement of Opportunity, is described. The primary science aim of the instrument would be to characterize the electromagnetic fields which are induced around Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. These signatures will then be interpreted in light of the internal structure of the moons. The design of the instrument consi...
متن کاملNew dust belts of Uranus: one ring, two ring, red ring, blue ring.
We compared near-infrared observations of the recently discovered outer rings of Uranus with Hubble Space Telescope results. We find that the inner ring, R/2003 U 2, is red, whereas the outer ring, R/2003 U 1, is very blue. Blue is an unusual color for rings; Saturn's enigmatic E ring is the only other known example. By analogy to the E ring, R/2003 U 1 is probably produced by impacts into the ...
